I could not believe how much Vancouver has changed when I went back last week for the annual CSAE conference. The most dramatic changes were the expansion of the VCEC, the almost completed 61-storey Shangri-La and the exciting 47-storey Fairmont Pacific Rim opening up in October 2009.

Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago

Remember Bill Rancic? He was the first winner of The Apprentice season one in the spring of 2004 and had chosen to take charge of the construction of the Trump Tower Chicago in his native Chicago. Well the TV reality show is now a real life phenomenal 92 stories (1362 ft to the tip of the spire) skyscraper in Chicago and 4 floors of the hotel side just opened a few days ago.

The expansive hotel project, which includes Fairmont’s luxury branded residences and fractional private residence club homes, will be situated adjacent to the Classic Club golf course, site of the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

Dubai: the leading world-class business and leisure travel destination

Everytime I google on the net, there’s always something new about Dubai: a new island, hotel, shopping mall, golf course, water park, ski dome, etc. It does not stop! I can’t keep up with all of the new mega projects under construction. I lived in Dubai for 2 years from 2002-2004 and would not recognize the city as it has changed so much and so fast.
